This mix is near to my heart. In the early 1990s I was growing up in a conservative religious home. Our church was opposed to drinking, drugs, dancing and gay sex; pretty much everything that had formed house music years earlier. I was ignorant to all that, though. All I knew is that when C&C Music Factory came on the radio, I loved it, then felt guilty for loving it. The track was poppy, yet aggressive! It's what I still like about house now. A decade later I was DJing in college and came upon a used copy of "Gonna Make You Sweat" in the budget bin. I rocked the Hip House remix at many a house party, to great results. This DJ mix, yet another decade later, highlights house that stays true to the jackin' spirit of the early 90's, when house bubbled into the mainstream. I ended the mix with the classic Clivillés and Cole track that captivated me 20 years ago.
